Reference Tracker FAQ

• How can I change the reference style used?

You can switch between the Harvard, APA, MLA and Chicago/Turabian styles in Reference Tracker's preference window. Select 'Preferences...' from the 'Reference Tracker' window to open the window. Click on the 'General' button at the top of the window to see the reference style options.

• Can I create reference lists in styles other than Harvard, APA, MLA and Chicago/Turabian?

Currently, Reference Tracker only creates reference lists in the Harvard, APA, MLA and Chicago/Turabian styles. However, if there is demand we will be happy to add support for different styles in future updates. If there is a different referencing style you would like us to include email us with the details.

• Can the 'Send to' menu work with word processors other that Word, Pages and Nisus Writer Pro?

Currently, only Word, Pages and Nisus Writer Pro are supported with the 'Send to' feature. However, if there is demand we will be happy to add support for additional word processors in future updates. If there is a word processor you would like us to include email us with the details.

• Where does the publication search get its information?

Reference Tracker's publication search currently accesses the US Library of Congress, Copac (a unified database of UK national and university libraries) and your nearest Amazon website.

• Can I change which Amazon site Reference Tracker searches?

Yes, you can choose between available Amazon sites are UK (amazon.co.uk), USA (amazon.com), Canada (amazon.ca), Germany (amazon.de), France (amazon.fr) and Japan (amazon.co.jp). You can select your preferred site in Reference Tracker's preferences window (select 'Reference Tracker > Preferences...')

Known Issues

• The Reference Current Page in Firefox feature is not compatible with Firefox version 3. This is due to AppleScript support being removed from FireFox in version 3. This feature still works with FireFox version 2, and if AppleScript support is re-implemented in a future version of FireFox, we will work to add support for it.
